Hanover School District is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated special education teacher to join our school community. This position would be 70% K-5 special educator and 30% preschool coordinator, providing an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many students and our community.

 

The special education teacher will implement instructional strategies that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. The special education teacher prepares lesson plans, delivers specially designed instruction to meet the goals and objectives defined in Individual Education Programs, and coordinates the student team.

 

The preschool coordinator component will coordinate community outreach around preschool special education services, case manage identified preschoolers in the community preschool setting, maintain regular contact/communication with area preschool/daycare centers, and act as a resource person for parents, pediatricians, and preschool programs. Additionally, the preschool coordinator meets with preschool related service staff to ensure services to be provided and line up preschool/daycare enrollments per IEP plans. 

 

Knowledge of NH Special Education rules and procedures is essential. The ideal dynamic candidate would exhibit a love of teaching to children with a variety of disabilities in grades PK-5. This position is full time. Candidate must hold a NH Special Educator Certification and have at least 3 years experience. Position starts in August 2024, open until filled.

General Purpose:
