The Ray School is looking for an Academic Support Interventionist to start in September of 2024 for the 2024-25 school year. The interventionist will work with small groups of students on targeted skills in reading, writing, and math. NH Teacher Certification preferred. Flexible hours per week up to 29, rate of pay is per hour with no benefits. Position is open until filled.

General Purpose:

Tutors plan for and deliver supplemental instruction in one or more given areas of the curriculum.

Reports to:

Building Principal or Designee

   

Supervises:

N/A

 

 

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:

  • Provide academic support and study skills intervention to support the individual student.
  • Teach and model active learning and study strategies
  • Consult with teachers, counselors, administration, parents 
  • Maintain a positive and productive working relationship with students
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance and progress
  • Must comply with all SAU 70 District policy and building / department rules, procedures, practices and objectives.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s  Degree 
  • Two to Four (2-4) years of relevant experience

 

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Ability to successfully multitask within role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures and instructions.

The physical demands of an employee in an Academic Support Tutor role are minimal.  The employee is occasionally required to do some lifting.  Employee is typically able to sit and stand as needed.
